Layered haircut question?

I have long, fine, straight hair (about mid-back) and I like having layers because it makes my hair look thicker, but it also tends to make it look "ratty" like I have split ends when I don't.. So I was wondering, is there a way to cut it so that the layers would be on the underside? Like so you couldn't really see the actual layers as much, but would still get the volume? I haven't asked a hair stylist yet, but I was just thinking about this and wondered what you guys out there would think, and have you ever heard of this being done? Do you think it would work?

Ask your stylist for "building" layers instead of "collapsing" layers. This will give you more body without a lot of work and your ends won't look thin. You may need a smoothing serum to tame your ends prior to styling.

Okay, there is no way to cut your layers on the underside. And the point of having layers is to fix them. If you use product and style your hair, then you will not get the ratty and split end look. I know what you are talking about because I have seen it many times while cutting many clients hair. The only way to fix this problem is to style it and control those ends.

Try while styling it flip it under

flip the layers under, so its and under curl....use a straightener or curler....btw no such thing as 'cutting layers on the under side'%26lt;%26lt;%26lt; also try a hair silkener i adore silk therapy by BIOSILK%26gt;...it make hair smooth and it makes the hair smmoth at the ends...which sounds like what yuor need... i have what you have at my layers around my face... and i use that stuff it works....what your hair is is like frizz but just at the ends, and the biosilk wil tame it.....it works trust me and i have them same hair as you mid back length thin and natually straight...except my layerss at the endd..
