Do you have to have a degree or a license for photography?

I mean, if you're really good at it, and you want to do it? My sister is 18 years old, and she's an excellent photographer and knows so many tricks for taking pictures. I'm interested in photo editing. I want to start a business with her, but I don't know if I can legally do that without a license. I mean, anyone can take a picture and edit it, but to start a business with it? Anyone can cut or style hair, but you have to go to school and have a license to be a professional hair stylist.

This is something I really want to do, but I don't have the money, and as a working mom definitely not the time, to go to school and get a license.

Do you have to have a degree or a license for photography?

A professional license is not necessary though there will be business license issues.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal %26amp; Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research 閳?this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Photographers Market Guide to Building Your Photography Business: Everything you need to know to run a successful photography business by Vik Orenstein

* Legal Handbook for Photographers: The Rights and Liabilities of Making Images Paperback by Bert P. Krages

* How to Start a Home-Based Photography Business, 4th Paperback by Kenn Oberrecht

* Shooting %26amp; Selling Your Photos: The Complete Guide to Making Money With Your Photography by Jim Zuckerman

I also posted links to some free articles in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success %26amp; happiness in all your ventures!

No you do not need any professional license to be a professional photographer, and luckily it is a low cost business to start-up if you already have the equipment and doing it as a hobby.

Wedding and such are the traditional ways to start a photography business, but i would suggest offering your services to advertisement agencies and smal businesses, small businesses especially. there are also firms that purchase a photgraphers photographs to use as stock photos which they lease use to corporations - good luck

So Ive never had split ends and after haircut I have them now, can it be the cut?

I never had split ends, I am trying to grow my hair longer, I just had a trim and my regular stylist wasnt in so someone else cut it. Now Ihave split ends! Can you get them from a bad scissor or haircut?

So Ive never had split ends and after haircut I have them now, can it be the cut?

I dont think so.... Try using a Wide tooth Comb ...Dont use a brush on your hair It will give you more split ends.....

So Ive never had split ends and after haircut I have them now, can it be the cut?

Yes you can get them from a bad scissor or a bad haircut. It might also be that the hair shaft was not in very good shape and when the hair was trimmed it was trimmed up to the splits and now you have them. You should definetly go back and demand that another stylist takes a look at your cut to find out exactly what happened. I know thta different tools, like a razor, can make the hair look split because of the way it cuts. So seriously go back because more than likely you paid a good bit and you should always leave happy.

So Ive never had split ends and after haircut I have them now, can it be the cut?

It is possible if the stylist used a razor which is usually used for layering.

Always use a comb on wet hair and for dry hair, use a "real" bristle brush. They are not as prevalent as they used to be but can still be found at beauty supply houses.

Remember... 100 strokes a day.

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

I think that's it...My hair grows like water and is in good condition, I had a little over an inch cut a week ago and the stylist made several comments on the condition of my hair but it's shedding and has been doing so for over a year...I don't see what else it could be this isn't typical in my blood line, I was born with thick hair and even my Grandmother has thick hair still...What do you'll think...have you ever been through this and found out the reason for shedding...what can cause shedding please list some things before i go make an appointment...has anyone ever discovered that they had a thyroid condition causing shedding?

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

You could very well have a thyroid condition, known as Hypothyroidism. (underactive thyroid gland) Some of the symptoms, are hair loss, dry skin, weight gain, tiredness, etc. The easiest way to find out if you have it or not, is to schedule an appointment with your doctor, tell him of your concerns, %26amp; ask him to order a special blood test for you. Without a doubt, it will confirm whether or not you have it. If you have it, you will be placed on synthroid, %26amp; in time, the pills will raise the various levels, within the thyroid gland. Periodically, you will have this special bloodwork repeated, %26amp; if any of the levels are low, the doctor may increase your daily dosage of synthroid. Hair loss can also result from stress also.

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

yes thyroids can cause some hair loss i have thyroids, go get it checked its a simple blood test

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Thyroid problems run in my family, and I can tell you for sure that hair loss is one symptom. Other major symptoms are fatigue weight loss or gain or insomnia. There are also many different kinds of thyroid disorders, so narrowing down will be helpful.

You need to go to a doctor to have thyroid bloodwork done and explain your symptoms. Thyroid problems are tricky and the only way to be sure is to discuss it with a healthcare professional. However, once you've figured out what's wrong, there are certain meds you can go on that will help you a lot of your symptoms.

Good luck :)

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Thyroid could be one of several causes. Some medications will cause loss of hair for example Birth control, anti depressants, etc. also age and stress could play a signficant role.

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Yes, for me the shedding was due to hypothyroidism. To test for this have a morning TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and an antibody test.

When I first got on medication, it did not help with the hairloss. It ony helped when I switched to a natural thyroid medication called ARmour. Actually some hair grew back, especially the eyebrow area.

I'm growing out my short hair and like Lauren's new hairstyle. I wanted to know what kind of cut to describe to my stylist.Thank you! :)

What type of cut is Lauren Conrad's new (New Year's) haircut?

its just a simple long layered cut..

Alright I need some opinions here?

I'm getting my hair cut in a few weeks and I know that I want to get layers and layered bangs to go with. The problem is, I don't have a definite idea of what sort of layers or what sort of layered bangs to choose. So I need you people to help me out here by giving me pictures so I can show my stylist. What type of layers do you like most? And what type of layered bangs do you like most?

Sorry I don't have more pics =)

I think layers look great on almost anyone. You'll look great! Ask your stylist what style she thinks will accommodate your face shape etc

Alright I need some opinions here?

i agree with tree hugger. that's actually the style i was going to suggest. it fits a lot of different faces, not just the one in the picture tree hugger linked, i've seen a few girls at school and on the street with the same style but very different face shapes - several round, a few with sort of baby (chubby-cheeked) faces, as well as the sort of sharp, pointy chin and cheekbones.

Haircut Help?

Ok, I want to go back to my roots and I want to have natural african american hair. The only way to do this would be cutting it of very very short. I have gone natural before, but I always relax my hair again because it natural grows out coarse/ curly/ wavy. Any way, I want one of those hair styles that are cut really really low. How do I tell my stylist what I want. The hair cut that I want consist of my hair being cut down really low.. almost to the scalp. What are some good ideas?

Haircut Help?

Get a picture if you can. You know hairstylist get their own visions and do what they want if they're not sure what you want them to do. You know you don't have to cut your hair when your going natural. Just in case you change your mind go to curls.biz. They have a kit that helps when you wanna go back natural. The products are really moisturizing so you don't have to worry about your new growth breaking off.

Haircut Help?

bring a pic.

Haircut Help?

Tell her you want a fade from a 1 or even lower on the clip..Leave more hair at the sides and top...Or if you just want an even cut go with the 1. They will know.

Haircut Help?

I agree with getting a picture similar to what you want--then they can get a good idea and not just do what they want. Good luck.

Haircut Help?
