Scenario #1:

Let閳ユ獨 say you閳ユ獧e at Wal-Mart and they have your favorite box of cereal on sale for $1.99 each. You later look at your receipt and realize you were charged the normal price of $2.99 each. Would you go back to the store for a refund or let it ride?

Scenario #2:

You and a friend are at a restaurant eating dinner. You meant to tip the waitress $5.00 but you later realize you accidentally left $20. Would you contact the restaurant for a refund or let it ride?

Scenario #3:

You go to a new hair stylist and she gives you highlights and a cut. You also decide to purchase the shampoo and conditioner that she used; however, you decide you閳ユ獧e not going to leave her a tip for whatever reason. The bill comes to $150.00 and you give her $200.00 (two $100.00 bills) because that閳ユ獨 all you have. She gives you back $20.00, assuming you left her a 20% ($30.00). Do you confront her about it or let it ride?

1. - the gas it would cost to go back and hassle the store for $1.00 would not be worth it, so I would NOT.

2. - I would beat my self for being so stupid as to have not paid attention to my money - I would NOT contact the restuarant - that was MY bad.

3. - YES, I would demand the correct change. It is not hers or anyone elses right to assume anything and "deduct" from the change owed you UNLESS those terms are printed right on the bill.

number one let it ride its only a dollar and if you go back your just using that dollar in gas number two let it ride b/c its your mistake not thiers so your punishing the waiter for your mistake and number three get your 30 dollars b/c you know

1) No, I wouldn't go back. Usually the customer service desk at WalMart is ridiculously busy.

2) No, $15 isn't alot of money and I wouldn't want to look "cheap". If it was $30 or over I would probably want a refund.

3) No, I'm a strong believer in tipping my hair stylist generously.

Scenario 1: a dollar really isnt much to go back and get a refund for.

Scenario 2: I guess I would feel really stupid to go back and ask for the other 15 dollars back. Plus she really might have earned it. It might have just been ment to be.

Scenario 3: If she did a good job she deserves a tip. But she really shouldnt assume thats the amount you were going to give her, but I would let it slide and just not go back to her.

2.) No, it'd probably make someone's day (though I would call if the waiter/waitress was snotty and didn't deserve it)

3.) Yes because it's not right for anyone to just take a tip. It has to be given to them.

Scenario 1: I would let it ride. Unless I am right by there or notice in the parking lot. I usually look at my receipt before I leave.

Scenario 2: Let it ride. Next time I would remember to pay attention to what I am doing with my money.

Scenario 3: I would say something. She has no right to assume the tip I am going to leave. I always leave a tip, but I will knock off a percentage level or two if the service was not to my liking. If the service was better than I expected than I leave a very generous tip.

In this case I would ask to speak to a manager/owner. Especially if it was bad enough not to leave a tip and the stylist assumed I was going to leave the full tip. The manager/owner should be aware of what is going on. The stylist could be aware that she does not do a good job and hopes that most people are too timid to ask for their money back.

#1: refund- it was said that the items were on sale. it's the principle of the matter, not the price.

#2: let it ride- that's my fault and obviously she was meant to get it.

#3: confront- she's wrong for assuming she gets to keep the money.

#1 - depends on the mood and how broke i was but i would go back and get my freaking dollar!

#2 - Let it ride! tips are great and most likely made that waiting person happy!

#3 - I always tip reguardless i would let it ride! good thing i don't go to that hair stylist tho that is costly stuff!
