I'm miserable with my short chopped up bad hair.?

My new and good stylist suggested getting great lengths extensions just in the sides of my hair to make my hair match the back (it's longer in the back) and to make it look better while growing it out. I asked about getting them all over. She was honest and said she wouldn't because the back is fine. The sides are damaged at the ends even after cutting and cutting and cutting, but I can't start short over and over. I'm so sick of this nightmare. Should I try this or will it damage my hair further? I look better with longer hair.

I say give it a try. If you dont like it, only keep it for a few weeks then take it out. If your stylist is good, it wont damage your hair.

I am wondering how you damaged your hair so much tho...if it was your stylist...its time to get a new one!

Dont worry . Hair grows at about 1/2 an inch per month, which is actually quite fast and once you grow it to chin-length, you can get a graduated bob or you can adjust your hairstyle to create the illusion of longer hair. Luckily short hair is in this season.

p.s. a daily head massage will stimulate the hair follicles and make it grow faster

p.p.s. Why don't you get clip in extentions that won't ruin your hair for the meantime

Hair extensions don't damage your hair...I got 100 percent human hair, keratin wax extensions all over, I had them for four months and I LOVED them. I just took them out however, and my hair is as soft and silky as it used to be, and it grew out a little.

As a basic, I don't believe sacrificing the ends of the side hair by attaching extensions is going to help you get long hair. It's a quick camouflage rather than a long-term fix.

Trimming a bad end with less than totally sharp scissors will just create a fresh bad end.

Trimming good hair with less than totally sharp scissors will also create a bad end as well as shortening an otherwise good-enough hair.

Trimming good hair with sharp scissors just shortens it.

Please be patient with yourself and with your hair. Work with it, rather than against it.
